Helensburgh Community Sign

  • Does your business need exposure to thousands of local customers per day?
  • Does your group or club need a low cost solution to reach a majority of your local supporters?
  • Would you like to further support local community projects?

The Helensburgh Lions Club Community Sign, situated at the top of Parkes St Helensburgh, provides a unique advertising forum for local businesses and community groups (including dedicated panels for all local sports clubs).
The Community Sign provides 24/7 exposure for participating groups - each of the two advertising spaces available is a massive 4m in length and 1m in height, printed as a pair of 2 x 1m black and white laminated banners, yours to keep, to re-use over and over again, either at the community sign or at your business.

Advertising blocks are 2 weeks, which we run for longer when there is less demand (such as during Winter).
Read more in a recent article.

Rules

All sports clubs are subject to a set of simple standards;
  • the panels that have been provided to each sports club must be maintained - that is, if the panel is damaged in any way, or needs to be re-branded, then the individual sports club must take responsibility.
  • The lock and key provided are part of a set - if these are lost then the individual club must pay for a replacement - we do not allow other locks to be used.
  • The Lions Club reserves to right to remove or replace panels at any time if these standards are not adhered to.

Helensburgh Country Fair

SAT 27TH OCTOBER 2013

Charles Harper Park, Helensburgh - 8am til 6pm
Listen to the music, watch ongoing entertainment, eat some delicious food, Christmas shop around our variety of market stalls, have fun on carnival rides, get your face painted - all wrapped up in the warmth and family fun you've come to expect from our annual country fair.
On the Saturday of the Fair, stalls will be active in the park from 8am, with the opening at 10am.
There are some amazing bands and artists taking us into the early evening and there will no doubt be lots to do around town, so be sure to hang around for a very full day of entertainment.
This is the major fund raising activity for Helensburgh Lions, with all monies raised will go to local community projects.
We acknowledge the sponsorship of Peabody Energy and Wollongong Council for the 2012 Fair.

Welcome

Community minded persons are welcome to enquire about our activities and membership. Our aims are to provide service and assistance to the less fortunate in the local and wider community, whilst enjoying the fun and fellowship of our own and other club members.

  • Fellowship... good times... meeting people...
  • building lasting friendships...
  • service to the community...
  • learning new skills...
  • leadership and personal development...

These are just some of the benefits of being a member of Lions Club, the world's largest and most active service club organisation.

We meet the second Tuesday of each month at Helensburgh Workers Club, Helensburgh.

We need your help!

This town has no other community group like Lions!

All the money raised by your local Lions stays within our community. We raise this money by organising the annual District Fair, coordinating bookings and hire of the new sign, and our BBQ is hired by lots of sporting groups, school and other community groups, helping them raise funds for themselves.

PLEASE DONT LET YOUR LOCAL LIONS BECOME EXTINCT!!!!

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month - meeting agendas are full and business is conducted in an efficient but light-hearted way. New ideas and new members are more than welcome and would enable us to more fully serve our community - which is what we do best!

Fair Day is fast approaching and we would love to hear from any community member who is willing to volunteer a few hours to BBQ, sell raffle tickets or join the after-Fair clean-up team. Any assistance is welcome. Ring Libby on 0421 609 731 and we will find a way for you to help us that suits you.

Sincerely,
Steve Wright
